Kurt VandenBussche is the VP for Technology Strategy and Innovation in Honeywell Aerospace's Corporate Technology Organization. In this role, he oversees the development and implementation of AERO's long term technology strategies, as well as its relationships with academic institutions and venture ecosystems on a worldwide basis. He holds a Masters and PhD degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Ghent, Belgium. He started as a process design specialist at Shell R&D in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. In 1996, he moved to Honeywell Performance Materials and Technologies (UOP) where he started out as a specialist in the development of ‘digital twins’ in the areas of natural gas, petrochemicals and sustainable fuels. He held several technical and managerial roles, eventually overseeing the development of all new technology offerings, across all PMT/UOP product lines. In 2021, he moved to Phoenix and the Honeywell Aerospace CTO organization to fill the technology strategy role. Since joining the Aerospace community, he has also taken an active role in expanding Honeywell and serves on the Board of the Arizona Technology Council.
