dr inż. Jakub Sitek

Dr. Jakub Sitek holds a PhD in Physics and is currently an Assistant Professor at Warsaw University of Technology, where he co-leads LATTICE® – Laboratory for Advanced Technologies in Two-Dimensional Crystal Epitaxy. With nearly nine years of experience in the growth of 2D materials, he specializes in epitaxial techniques and focuses on translating these atomically thin structures into practical electronic applications. His academic and research career has been shaped by international experience, including research visits in the UK and Switzerland, and a one-year postdoctoral fellowship in South Korea. Dr. Sitek holds a patent for a novel synthesis method of 2D van der Waals heterostructures and has authored or co-authored 18 scientific publications. His work bridges fundamental materials science with emerging technologies. Beyond the lab, he occasionally explores the artistic side of research – currently co-creating a sculptural piece involving graphene, merging science with creative expression.
