Luisa Puddu

My name is Luisa, I’m 27 years old and I graduated with a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cagliari in February 2022. After an internship at an engineering consultancy, I joined CERN as a mechanical engineer for the High Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) project. My main task is the thermo-structural simulation of collimators, using FEM tools to analyze mechanical and thermal behavior under different conditions. I work with Ansys, Abaqus, and COMSOL Multiphysics for modeling complex phenomena such as racheting analysis, nonlinear contacts, advanced materials (e.g., composites), and transient loading. I also have a strong personal interest in sustainability and renewable energy technologies.
