Agnieszka Chylewska

Dr. Agnieszka Chylewska, born in 1981 in Elbląg, Poland, earned her MSc in Chemistry at the University of Gdańsk in 2004 and her PhD in 2008, focusing on trivalent metal ion complexes with bio-ligands. A faculty member and head of the Laboratory of Intermolecular Interactions at UG holds a Doctor habilitatus title (2019) and editor of the Journal of Coordination Chemistry. Her research explored the coordination compounds of di-and trivalent metal ions (Cu, Ni, Fe, Ru, Rh, Os, and Ir) and their antimicrobial activity. She studied vitamins and pyrazine derivatives as ligands to develop novel complexes and fast predictive methods for stability and bioactivity. She resumed work after maternity leave in 2013 and actively mentors young scientists through the "Girls into Science" program. Dr. Chylewska is a senator at the University of Gdańsk and a member of Polish scientific societies, enriching her dynamic scientific journey.
